Fault Monitoring Engineer - Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

Responsible for tool and service designs within a technical domain that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Primary contributor to the creation of infrastructure tools and their integration as an infrastructure service. Facilitates deployment of technical solution by developing templates, playbooks and automation to be used during implementation. Infrastructure Engineer II consistently looks for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency when implementing and maintaining infrastructure tools and/or services. This engineer embraces the culture that drives innovation and continuous improvement.

Position Summary

  • Architect and engineer Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Ensure that Fault Monitoring toolset globally covers all environments.
  • Develop test plans, execute tests and document results.
  • Interact with users and stakeholders to build requirements and deliver Fault Monitoring solutions.
  • Onboard new Fault Monitoring tools through Bank governance processes.
  • Assist with Audit deliverables for Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Work with Vendors to enhance their respective tool to meet new customer/security requirements
  • Refresh/Upgrade existing tool as it becomes EOL/EOS or Not-Permitted within the bank.
  • Develop integrations to the various Bank tools and systems.
  • Develop and maintain Technical Recovery plans for Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Conduct new product research related to Fault Monitoring
  • Provide L3 Support for Fault Monitoring toolsetProvide L1 and L2 Operational Support for Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Implement Fault Monitoring tool upgrades and changes in production environment.
  • Assist with the development of change test plans, execute tests and document results.
  • Coordinate Fault Monitoring tool server/database/application patching
  • Certify new product models/version and obtain their approval for use at the bank from all governance processes
  • Develop and maintain event catalog
  • Document Fault Monitoring toolset support processes and procedures
  • Assist with Audit deliverables for Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Audit managed device inventory of Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Coordinate device seeding remediation activities.
  • Perform Disaster Recovery exercises for Fault Monitoring toolset
  • Onboard new tools for Operational Support by Network Tools Operations.
  • Submit Change Requests for Fault Monitoring toolset​

Required Skills
  • Strong Knowledge in the areas of Fault Monitoring, Capacity Management, Configuration Management, and Performance Management within the Network Infrastructure area.
  • General Network engineering experience
  • Cisco Network Services Orchestrator
  • Unix OS Administration
  • SNMP
  • Syslog
  • Knowledge on the Change Management process
