Senior Technology Business Control Specialist – Control Reviews & Operational Losses

Job Description:

Role Overview:

  • Collaborate with Technology divisions, Risk Leads, and process owners to oversee GCOR portfolio of coverage of activities, including but not limited to tests, monitoring activities, and targeted risk assessments

  • Maintain schedule and calendar, identify and engage stakeholders as necessary, support coordination of requests, provide guidance and support for escalations and debates

  • Provide guidance and coaching on the execution of coverage activities, including guidance on self-assessing control design and performance, and quality of evidence of control design and operation

  • Collaborate with Technology divisions, Risk Leads, and process owners to monitor and assess technology-related operational loss events and related control gaps; align to control framework elements; identify and remediate related control gaps or weaknesses; and manage remediation tracking activities

  • Provide guidance and coaching to partners on the execution of the Operational Loss Data standards, and the usage of risk tools and processes (ORCIT, etc)

  • Coordinate or collaborate on meeting routines, reports, and monitoring of coverage activities, operational losses, including tracking and reporting compliance to required time lines and standards, and related risk management routines

  • This is an individual contributor role


Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of technology experience for a large and complex organization

  • Strong understanding of technology risk and control / technology risk management

  • Active participation during the identification, remediation, and oversight of technology issues/ risks; including action plan development and execution

  • Strong relationship management skills to navigate the complexities of aligning stakeholders, building consensus and resolving conflicts in a large, distributed organization

  • Proven ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a global environment; Ability to drive routines, projects and programs with a track record of successful execution / change

  • Proven ability to foster the Identify, Escalate, and Debate Risk Culture

  • Proven ability to execute with accuracy, precision, and attention to detail

  • Ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input or escalation

  • Proactive approach - ability to connect the dots, look across, and a love of problem-solving

  • Strong communication skills (presentation and influencer); ability to synthesize information in order to drive results; Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner

  • Participation in cross-functional teams and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team

  • Competency with Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Markets technology, Corp Investment technology, Infrastructure technology, financial services technology, technology consulting background strongly preferred

  • CISA, CGEIT, CISM, CRISC, CISP, or other related certification strongly preferred

  • College degree (BS or equivalent) in applicable field of study strongly preferred

Jersey City pay and benefits information

Jersey City pay range:

$82,700 - $145,200 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
