There is an immediate opening for a producing Resident Director in Spokane, WA office. The office is a part of the Seattle Cascades Market, additionally consisting of offices in Downtown Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and Coeur D’Alene, ID, led by Senior Market Executive, Peter Ardolino. The Market is part of the newly formed Mountain Pacific Division. Spokane is Eastern Washington's largest metropolitan center and one of the largest cities in the state of Washington. Located along the Spokane River, the city lies only 20 miles from the Washington-Idaho border and about 280 miles east of Seattle. The Spokane area is known for its outstanding quality of life, with limitless outdoor recreational activities, spectacular natural beauty, affordable cost of living, and four distinct seasons offering an average of 205 days of sunshine per year. Spokane is also home to Gonzaga University, and has a very vibrant arts and cultural scene.

The Resident Director (RD) performs a dual role, serving as both a Financial Advisor and Leader/Manager. RDs are responsible for leading by example through responsible growth & acquisition, fostering office culture – including recruiting, providing managerial and supervisory oversight, and delivering the enterprise. Responsibilities may vary given critical factors such as office size, distance to parent office, market strategy, etc. 

Responsibilities:

Lead responsible growth (acquisition, deepening, retention):

  • Lead local strategies for revenue growth in line with the Market business plan

  • Deliver on business goals for the office as defined by the RD scorecard – e.g.  client acquisition, recruiting, enterprise integration, digital

  • Lead by example to help deliver national strategic priorities

  • Leverage enterprise relationships and proactively collaborate across the organization to drive business integration

  • Recruit high performing advisors, reflecting the communities we serve

  • Coach and support FAs to strengthen their practices, leveraging specialists and internal/external partners

  • Conduct business reviews with FAs in partnership with ME and OMT

Lead office culture of excellence

  • Uphold company vision, values, operating principles, and strategy as a leader and individual contributor

  • Establish and reinforce the tone and vision for the office

  • Lead employee engagement efforts and events to strengthen culture

  • Create an inclusive environment with diversity that mirrors  the communities we serve

  • Serve as the enterprise representative within the community

Provide managerial and supervisory oversight:

  • Act as the regulatory supervisor and manage supervisory tasks that need to be completed on-site

  • Model standards of conduct and hold advisors and CAs accountable to them

  • Quickly and consistently address or escalate conduct issues (HR, ER, Compliance, Market Executive)

  • Lead by example in completing mandates and required training/certification and ensure office completion

  • Lead and influence with a risk and compliance mindset and encourage open and honest dialogue

  • Prepare & participate in daily routines that drive branch exam results

  • Job title of Resident Director or Associate Resident Director depending on office oversight and size

Required skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of the business units’ functional area and products

  • Knowledge of general policies, programs and procedures and financial/accounting practices.

  • Must be licensed for supervisory responsibility; Series 7, 66 (63/65), 9 & 10 needs to be obtain within 60 days.
