Exercise Consultant

Job Description:

As part of Global Technology Chief Operating Office, the Global Technology Resiliency & Business Continuity (GRBC) team drives consistent, end to end unified business processes across Global Technology for resiliency and business continuity. The GBRC team directly impacts the firm’s ability to achieve and sustain technology resiliency and recovery across GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY ensuring effective coordination of testing, exercise, and live events. In partnership with the Enterprise Global Operational Continuity & Resiliency (GOC&R) team, GRBC performs standard functions to develop plans, tests, and responses in preparation for an actual technical disruption event.

The role supports the Global Technology Resiliency & Business Continuity (GRBC) exercise program designed to strengthen our ability to effectively respond to real world events.  The Business Continuity Consultant role within GRBC is responsible for the development of exercises tailored to specific threats/risks within Global Technology. The Consultant will assist in planning, scheduling, designing, and facilitating GT wide exercises. Additionally, the role will support the team in development of standards, procedures, playbooks, and provide business continuity subject matter support in preparedness activities. The consultant is responsible for Global Technology exercise tracking, lessons learned monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management.

  • Supports/acts as lead consultant in planning and execution of Global Technology exercises

  • Plan, develop, conduct, and evaluate Global Technology exercises as assigned

  • Provides business continuity subject matter consulting support in exercise design and development

  • Collaborates with all partners and project teams to facilitate and execute the scope and deliverables

  • Provides support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within GRBC Exercise team

  • Manages Lessons Learned tracking and regular reporting to leadership

  • Leads exercise tracking/reporting for Global Technology

  • Performs Quality Assurance for exercise artifacts and lessons learned tracking

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Working familiarity with business continuity within the banking/financial services sector

  • Business Continuity/disaster recovery exercise development experience

  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail

  • Strong project management and decision-making skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to organize and facilitate meetings

  • Proficiency in MS Office products

  • Solid relationship-building and relationship management skills

  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly

Desired Skills & Abilities:

  • Accreditation and/or formal training in BC/DR recovery field, such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Functional Continuity Professional (CFCP)

  • Experience developing and presenting executive level presentations
