Wealth Management Operational Excellence, Change Management and Initiative Planning Governance Team

The Wealth Management Engagement & Governance team (WMEG) is looking for a business strategy & initiative manager to help support a broad range of responsibilities supporting the Wealth Management businesses, including Merrill, Private Bank, Investment Solutions Group, and Banking.  The candidate will be responsible for aspects of managing the portfolios for OpEx and SIM, ensuring we have the right rigor around identification of processes that can improve the way we do business, whether it’s through a process improvement, risk reduction, expense or capacity save. The candidate will work closely with individuals across WM to identify, implement and manage the portfolio, including alignment with the technology process.   The position requires the individual to build, collaborate, and maintain relationships across WM, and the OpEx Technology and Finance organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

OpEx Lead – coordinate work across WM.  Tasks include:

  • Liaison with OpEx Enterprise coordinators to drive consistency between the Enterprise and all WM  teams
  • Work with the LOB champions, supporting OpEx enterprise initiatives and process improvements to ensure robust portfolio of work
  • Run bi-weekly Lead call and manage agenda for the OpEx Champion bi-weekly call
  • Create and maintain monthly reporting.  Working with the LOBs in creation of monthly highlights and reporting for MTM roundtable
  • Responsible for quarterly OCC/FRB reporting package

Support the Merrill, Private Bank, ISG and Banking businesses in managing through OpEx and Technology/Change support.  Tasks include:

  • Understand each LOB’s business strategy to help ensure material change  aligns to strategy
  • Effectively help prioritize OpEx work using fact based, data supported information. Working with the OpEx Champion, access processes within the business to identify areas where improvements can be made to simplify/improve process, reduce expense, and  increase capacity
  • Effectively liaise with Enterprise functions outside of WM (including and not limited to Enterprise OpEx, Technology, GCOR).  Ability to influence policy requirements/guidelines

Support the LOBs on large scale strategic initiatives.  Task include:

  • Help formalize governance structure
  • Attend  project meetings in support of process and controls
  • Ensure projects are following Enterprise Change Management tollgates

Required Key Experiences and Skills:

  • Intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills and mindfulness
  • 10+ years directly related experience, including work with strategic initiatives and/or project management.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and financial/business acumen
  • Understands the Bank of America & WM product platform, functionality, and support infrastructure
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with outstanding influencing skills as well as ability to manage debate and conflict.
  • Excellent Project Management skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, manage complexity and deliver solutions on tight deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle a variety of tasks and initiatives independently
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and take a proactive approach to job responsibilities
  • Strong partnership and relationship management skills; ability to work across functions and organizational lines/levels
  • Lead senior management discussions and influence results.
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in either ISG, Private Bank or Merrill , or  strong understanding of the Enterprise OpEx, Change Management and Technology organizations
