Assistant Vice President / Vice President, Java Software Engineer (Post Settlements & Messaging), Global Markets Operations Technology

Your background

  • You are a very strong Java developer with extensive experience building middle-tier services

  • You are a hands-on developer with work experiences in core java and ability to work in different frameworks.

  • You have a good understand of Messaging framework experience (IBM MQ) and JMS.

  • You have experience in RDBMS, JDBC, LINUX, XML and in-memory databases.

  • You are a self-starter and eager learner.

  • You have a good understanding of common algorithms and data structures.

  • You have strong problem-solving and analytics skills.

  • You have a good understanding of SDLC and application of Agile Methodologies including but not limited to automated testing (such as Test-Driven Development), Code Review, Continuous Integration and Version Control Systems.

  • Ideally, you have an education in computer science (or relevant subjects).

The Post Settlements & Messaging team manages a suite of messaging in-house built applications. The team works on industry driven initiatives, discretionary enhancements, and performance tuning. We have a team of strong developers who can leverage off each other’s expertise and technical skills. We would be able to offer a highly technical track to developers who would like to pursue career in the technical domain within Investment Banking.

What you will do

  • You would spend 80% of time in hands-on programming.

  • You would be responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment.

  • You would collaborating with global teams to design and build new functionality on Quartz and other shared platforms.

  • You would be interacting directly with end users, compliance and senior stakeholders to capture requirements without having to rely on business analysts or project managers.

  • You would be managing a high level of risk with in-depth capital markets product knowledge.

  • You would provide level 3 production support for applications.
