Role Description:

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Dublin currently has a number of exciting permanent opportunities available for talented individuals looking to work in a dynamic environment. Based in Central Park, Dublin 18, the purpose of these roles are to provide timely settlement of securities in the European Markets.

The Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) Operations Tax and Control team manages the operational tax responsibilities arising from activity of our GBAM trading desks and clients. The team manages tax documentation, withholding and reporting processes globally. This role will execute tax processes and controls, as well as running governance routines over tax processes and performing business analysis and project management activities arising from the team’s responsibilities.

The successful applicant must ensure a high level of client service is provided to both internal and external clients, whilst complying with internal procedures, controls and FSA regulatory requirements.

In addition to the core responsibilities of the role, this opportunity enables our associates to develop or enhance their understanding of settlements and the investment banking industry.

Primary Responsibility

· Executing tax operations processes and controls, with a focus on financial transaction taxes and stamp duties.

·Understanding end-to-end GBAM tax processes and associated risks, controls and control metrics.

· Providing quality control and analytical support to GBAM tax operations functions.

· Analysis and resolution of complex operations problems and initiatives requiring exceptional handling and coordination of multiple operational and product specialists to resolve.

· Managing projects and/or the introduction of new initiatives, systems, products/services and processes, coordinating necessary expertise across multiple operations functions and products.

· Effectively communicating with managers, peers and business partners on deliverables, timelines and support needed from them.

· Partnering closely with control and governance organizations.

Required Skills & Experience

· Experience of financial transaction tax/stamp duty operations processes.

· Highly organized, motivated, team-player, intellectually curious and able to thrive in a fast paced environment.

· Good data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.

· Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

· Demonstrated process design skills.

· Ability to negotiate and influence within and outside the organization.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, with emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint.
