Portfolio Delivery Manager

Position Summary

This role will be aligned to Enterprise Payments Technology, within the Retail, Preferred, Small Business and Wealth Technology organization. The EPT organization manages responsibilities that include:

  • Run payment platforms for Mobile, Online Banking, ATMs, Financial Centers, Merchant Services, Contact Center, and APIs
  • Provides global card network processing for both Issuing and Acquiring transactions to Visa, MC, Pulse, Amex, etc.
  • Run bank payment networks such as Zelle and The Clearing House Real Time Payments
  • Manage trillions of dollars in product, payment, account, bank entity Settlement
  • Lead Merchant Services Channels (e.g., Point of Sale Terminals) and Products
  • Run payment platforms for Bill Pay, Invoicing, Disbursements, Account Transfers, Wires, ACH that support Retail, Preferred, Small Business, Wealth, Global Banking
  • Manage Payment Account Systems for Credit and Debit Card Digital Wallets (e.g., Apple Pay), Physical Debit Cards, Zelle
  • Lead Healthcare Payments Gateway for Small Business and Global Banking clients (e.g., Hospitals, Physician Offices)

The Portfolio Delivery Manager will be responsible for driving end-to-end execution of a group of programs within the overall program, leading a team of delivery leads who coordinate the overall work efforts related to Enterprise Payments Technology initiatives.  Core focus on engaging stakeholders and delivering Program and projects on-time, on budget, though the Change Framework and with Permits for all owned work. Integrate Program/Project health routines with stakeholders and reduce redundancy in reporting. Drive scoping, sizing, and prioritization of work within the program. Develop new or change existing artifacts and documents to bring consistency to our execution approach

  • Supports End-to-End Program management from high level roadmap creation to execution and delivery
  • Performs program management responsibilities relating to change implementations (initiatives, upgrades, conversions, and recovery programs) that span multiple tech releases and quarters/years
  • Role has direct and matrixed execution responsibility across all impacted technology organizations for owned programs as well as requiring tight partnerships with LOB/Portfolio/Project Managers inside and outside our org in service of delivering the program/projects
  • Manages one to many programs
  • Leads a team consisting of Project Managers
  • Partners with Program and Project Managers and SMEs to review business requirements for technology solutions, and evaluates them against target state architecture plans and against known portfolio capacity to ensure smooth delivery to timeline
  • Assists with technology estimates, manages moderate to high complexity technology solutions for programs, tracking them to a full-scale deployment in a live environment
  • Delivers to timelines and budget and communicates program status with senior exec leadership as part of program level stakeholder reviews
  • Supports enterprise change management (governance and change toll gating) by ensuring all programs and projects are in compliance with those standards.
  • Builds positive give and take relationships with stakeholders
  • Use the right questions and tools to uncover root causes to business challenges, identify opportunities, and make recommendations

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 3-5 years leading, coaching, and managing a team of professionals
  • 7-10 years overall IT program/project delivery experience
  • General background and understanding of Program Management practices
  • Ability to navigate through technical discussions, influence discussions, and gain consensus on topics such as design, timing, and scope
  • Ability to partner with LOB and outside tech team partners to discuss design and timeline cognizant of capacity and financial and big picture impacts, within and outside our team
  • Fully conversant with Agile Lean Software Delivery Life Cycle and/or iterative development life cycles
  • Ability to work in a high paced work environment
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities
  • Organized and detail oriented, able to manage multiple workstreams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to solicit input from others

Desired Skills

  • Prior experience in the banking industry, specifically in payments technology
  • Prior experience working as part of a Lean-Agile team
  • Highly skilled in developing C-Level presentations.
