Accounting Data Analyst - MVSO - Reconciliation and Cash Control

Fort Worth, Texas;

Job Description:

Responsible for Reconciliation account work and performing data analytics within Excel on large to very large data sets for Mortgage Payments and Accounting.  Ensures accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of financial analysis for all loans within the servicing portfolio on a periodic or ad hoc basis for investors and/or corporate finance. This position carries great financial exposure and requires the ability to apply analytical skills and sound judgment, focusing on key areas of borrower impact, investor impact and corporate impact to ensure accurate management and administration of the portfolios. Handles more complex and varied levels of transactions requiring subject matter expertise in many facets of Loan Servicing and forensic accounting to resolve aged and complex transactional issues. Will work on projects and other related duties and will assist other analysts as needed.

Duties include:

  • Working with large data sets in Excel to reconcile data.
  • Providing operational instruction, follow up on situations and ensure bank policy is enforced
  • Assisting with research, documentation and analysis
  • Communicating to immediate Unit Manager as necessary to support unit operations and resolve unit issues
  • Coordinating and running small projects.
  • Assisting with larger scale projects.
  • Acting as a coach, sharing knowledge, skills, and abilities. 
  • Representing the unit at departmental meetings 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Reconciliation accounting, investor accounting or comparable financial services experience
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Advanced Excel skills & usage of complex formulas
  • Strong research and analytic skills
  • Strong financial analysis and data presentation skills
  • Consistent and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to coach others

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or business information systems or equivalent work experience
  • SQL experience
  • Mortgage banking knowledge
  • Experience working in projects
