Investment Analyst, CIO Fixed Income Team

Job Description:

The Chief Investment Office (CIO) is responsible for providing industry leading thought leadership, investment strategy, due diligence and portfolio construction to Financial Advisors, Private Wealth Advisors and Bank of America Private Bank Portfolio Managers and their clients. This organization directly supports advisors by enhancing their capabilities and product offering through: client-facing investment publications, tactical investment advice; asset allocation; equity and fixed income portfolio investment research. This role will be part of the fixed income portfolio management team within the Chief Investment Office.

Responsibilities:

The Investment Analyst will support the senior Fixed Income the Research Teams, Investment Strategists and senior Portfolio Managers in a range of investment and market analysis, client service, and administrative responsibilities.  The ideal candidate must have strong writing, analytical and presentation skills, a high degree of attention to detail and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner.

  

  • Contribute to the creation of the fixed income team’s investment strategy collateral and written thought leadership with a focus on supporting the team with strong analytic and presentation skills.
  • Research investment themes and assist with industry thought leadership pieces on developments relating to the Fixed Income markets and other wealth management topics for the CIOs regular weekly, monthly and quarterly publications.
  • Develop, organize and maintain data spreadsheets which feed into CIO publications.
  • Take ownership of certain publications like CIO Fixed Income Investment Strategy report
  • Take a lead role in creating and maintaining marketing presentation and other ad hoc investment strategy and marketing materials.
  • Maintain the CIO Fixed income implementation guide and other process documents. 
  • Contribute in a variety of business support activities.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  •  BA/BS required; Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of related experience (e.g. investment research, trading, portfolio management, marketing or investment support).
  • Some knowledge and passion of financial markets, investment strategy, macroeconomics. Good analytical skills especially economic and financial market data analysis and charting. Ability to conduct analysis and translate findings into insights and new strategies.
  • High attention to detail. Exhibits strong drive for results and success; conveys a sense of urgency to achieve outcomes and exceed expectations; persists despite obstacles, setbacks and competing influences.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat skills a must. Some experience with Bloomberg and Tableau preferred.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, critical thinker, detail oriented, thrives and delivers in a fast pace environment, has the ability to produce independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously, work independently, but also support broader team efforts.
