Business Strategy & Initiatives Manager | Technology Excellence

Job Description:

The CFO Technology Excellence team sits within the COO & Governance organization and performs a variety of strategic functions across the CFO Group to enable continuous improvement and Operational Excellence.  The team is organized around the strategic planning and execution of three primary areas of responsibility; CFO’s Technology initiative planning and portfolio management, employee digital upskilling and enablement, and governance & controls.
The team partners with key stakeholders across the CFO Group, the Global Tech & Ops (GT&O) organization, external vendors, both existing and prospective, as well as several other Enterprise-wide support functions in order to enable CFO employees and support OpEx efforts through available technology solutions, streamlined processes and best practices.
The focus of this role is to enable process improvement across the CFO Group through the management of a strategic approach to investments in new and existing technology solutions to increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and manage risk.  This includes developing partnerships across business and technology stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including external vendors, to gain an understanding of both the process and solution options in order to drive results through data driven recommendations and a forward thinking approach. 
The ideal candidate will have experience leading cross functional initiatives and designing frameworks and strategies, be comfortable informally managing teams and will demonstrate understanding of internal control disciplines.

Core responsibilities

  • Establishes and fosters strategic partnerships across the organization as well as with existing and prospective vendors to support various business objectives
  • Analyzes available information and leverages deep finance process understanding with technical knowledge to develop business cases for strategic recommendations
  • Manages an initiative investment portfolio and quarterly planning process
  • Drives cross-functional objectives through trust and influence
  • Demonstrates an eagerness to identify and solve problems
  • Delivers presentations to business partners at multiple levels, including process owners, senior managers and executives, focusing on takeaways, answering questions clearly and at the appropriate level of detail
  • Acts as an enabler to provide business partners with solution opportunities through a comprehensive and consistent approach
  • Demonstrates a passion for continuous improvement and strives to identify applicable levers to help

Experience, Skills and Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in process improvement, program management, strategy or consulting with a proven track record of advancement and leadership.
  • Demonstrable ability to drive strategic change in a matrixed-environment, with minimal supervision to achieve goals
  • Experience in designing strategies, frameworks or leading change/process improvement initiatives. Controls & Governance experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as an ability to analyze complex data sets and use to tell a story or influence an outcome
  • Ability to lead/facilitate discussions across various organizational levels, technical backgrounds, and differing opinions of stakeholders
  • Experience with use or implementation of low-code/no-code technology solutions
  • Understanding of data analytics, reporting, and collaboration solutions including Alteryx, Tableau, and Workiva required, hands-on experience a plus
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing demands and priorities.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to changes in approach/methodology in a dynamic setting
