
Job Description:
The Business Controls team for the Global Commercial Bank and Business Bank focuses on equipping the businesses with the tools and resources needed to identify, escalate, debate and mitigate operational and compliance risk. This team provides primary support for Commercial and Business Banking, however, may support efforts spanning other Global Banking businesses as well. The successful candidate must have or develop a deep understanding of the businesses they support as well as a deep understanding of the risk programs supported by the team. The candidate must also have a broad understanding of the enterprise and financial services industry. The ability to collaborate with Business Controls peers, Line of Business and Product subject matter experts and Control Partners (including Compliance/Operational Risk / Audit / Regulatory Relations) will be critical to success. Typical candidates have at least 5 years of banking experience with a preference for risk management and/or Global Commercial or Business Banking experience.
Position may be filled in any GCB office location in the U.S.
The candidate will join GCB and BB Business Controls, housed within the GCB National Operations and Business Integration function, supporting multiple aspects of risk management work. Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and professional environment with the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Support multiple risk and control programs across GCB and BB in partnership with Business Controls teammates Lead and execute risk identification and mitigation programs, potentially including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Privacy, Resiliency, Recovery and Resolution (R&R), Vendor Management, Policy and Procedures (P&P), Single Process Inventory (SPI), and Integrated Risk Inventory (Risk ID) for one or more businesses including preparation of summary documentation for periodic approval at Risk Committee Maintain procedures, program summary documents and evidence of process control routines for the risk program(s) supported Analyze, monitor, interpret, and report data and information related to risk and control programs and leverage it to identify and drive resolution of potential issues or inefficiencies Develop, produce, and distribute management reporting related to risk and control programs and activities Liaise with Business Controls management and teammates, business process owners, and Control and Support Partners (e.g. Global Compliance and Operational Risk, Technology, Operations, Human Resources, etc.) Provide oversight and drive adherence to select regulatory guidance and operational policy, standards and procedures potentially including Operational Risk, Process and other procedural guidance Anchor select audit and inspection activity within the business Support operational risk mitigation efforts via Issue or MRA remediation Support other management routines as required related to Line of Business’ internal control discipline Act as an ambassador of the risk culture
