Merchant Tech Software Architect

Job Description:

Position Summary

The individual in this role will design, implement, and test applications built with .NET Core and C#, including cloud-native applications in Azure and / or other clouds. You will work to build a new merchant data processing application, including APIs, data flows, custom protocol implementation, and then work on a future cloud-native platform in the merchant space. APIs will be scalable, reusable, system agnostic, and will simplify the offerings for both internal bank systems and external systems. Our ideal candidate with have extensive .NET / C# experience, experience with .NET Core, demonstrated success building APIs for large, complex, and interdependent systems. Must be deeply knowledgeable of application protocols, REST, messaging, streaming, production observability, and various data storage architectures. Assist partner teams in adopting and consuming new APIs, and creating integration patterns for existing service providers (both SOAP & REST) and exposing those services via various API gateways.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience.

5+ years of experience in C# / .NET technology.

Expert level understanding of C# and .NET.

Experience and competence in .NET Core.

Experience with Microsoft Azure.

Familiar with micro service architecture and principles of 12 factor app.

Work history of participating in daily agile routines and estimation of stories with minimal direction.

Expert in REST principles and resource oriented architecture.

Expertise in transaction management and clean understanding of concepts such as XA transactions / last phase commit, connection pooling, multi-threading.

Experience in event streaming.

Practical experience with performance tuning, identifying a memory leak, connection leak, etc.

Understanding of memory dump, thread dump, query plans.

Outstanding communication skills.
