
Job Description:
• The role sits within the Global Markets Credit group within the
Enterprise Credit organization.
• The position will support the development of GMC's capacity for the
underwriting and ongoing monitoring of Structured Derivatives and
Lending booked within the Global Commodities line of business.
• This role will support a senior credit officer in the evaluation of new
transaction opportunities, screening transactions with the Risk
organization and other stakeholders, negotiating key transaction and
documentation terms, underwriting and monitoring.
• The assoicate will be involved in the drafting of credit approval
materials.
• Product coverage includes e.g. Lien Based Hedging, Spark Spread
swaps, Natural Gas hedging, Carbon Credit financing. Underlying client
sectors include natural gas fired power plants, wind farms, solar farms,
power storage facilities, renewable refineries, etc.
• Supporting the creation and maintanence of underwriting related
policies and procedures for this business activity.
• Undertaking research in the relavant industry sectors.
• Coordinating periodic and/or adhoc reporting, product limits and
related underwriting governance.
Commodities has asked Global Markets Credit (GMC) to create a team to cover the underwriting of these transactions directly, or work with GCIB Credit Officers in partnership for names managed in that group. The role requires significant product expertise in terms of industry knowledge, product knowledge and credit underwriting. The team is expected to initially include a Director and an Analyst/Associate.

Required Skills: "Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified:
• BA/BS degree required; Finance, Accounting, Engineering majors preferred
• 3+ years of experience in banking, rating agencies or similar financial institutions.
• Familiarity with core lending and derivative products.
• Understanding of relevant documentation including ISDA/CSA, loan agreements etc.
• Experience of Credit Underwriting and credit memo preparation
• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desired Skills: • Ideally knowledge of the related Gas, Metals&Mining, Midstream&Downstream and Power Industries and related products. • Formal Credit training at a major bank
