Overview

We are looking for an Oracle developer who possess strong knowledge in Exadata who can develop solutions, optimize server, monitor usage, help other teams etc. You will be responsible for developing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. Familiar with development and testing practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); Analyzes test reports, identifies any test issues/errors; Triages the underlying cause. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Participates, contributes and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.
  • Will not have direct reports, however may provide technical leadership on projects and direct activities of a team related to projects.
  • May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned team members.
  • Drives process improvements and innovation
  • Interprets business requirements into design solutions
  • Understands design and development of project lifecycle
  • Designs the conceptual and physical data model
  • Adapts best Database design and coding standards
  • Database coding
  • Code Unit Testing and Component Integration Testing.
  • Creation and maintenance of system, functional and reference documentation.
  • Provide support during testing phases as required.
  • Conduct analysis and recommend bug fixes for production incidents
  • Performance tuning
  • Provide On-call support
  • Carry out daily health-check activities involving application checks, system checks, and database checks and related on production systems / servers
  • Report root cause of the incidents and present ideas on how to prevent the incidents from occurring in future
  • Ensure adherence to incident and change management processes

Required Skills

  • Strong software engineering skills with deep hands-on programming experience in database programming and design using SQL, PL*SQL (5-7 years)

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and determine the feasibility of leveraging the Oracle Enterprise Manager solution as the centralized proactive maintenance solution for Exadata distributions, i.e., report on performance and provide metrics.
  • In-Depth knowledge of database concepts and hands-on Oracle coding experience
  • Planning skills -- ability to think ahead and be proactive
  • Must be able to clearly and succinctly articulate progress, issues, solutions, plans, results, and success
  • Strong presentation skills - ability to tell the story to leaders and stakeholders
  • Ability to build strong relationships with people of all levels of the organization and influence to bring about positive change
  • Ability to encourage and accept feedback from all stakeholders with an open mind and take appropriate actions to follow up
  • Ability to provide technical leadership to initiatives and teams
  • Person should be self-motivated, good written and oral communicator who can work with minimum supervision


Desired Skills

  • Advanced understanding of SQL, PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers, partitions, primary keys, different indexes, views, autosys knowledge
