Business Product Manager - Midrange Server Products, Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

This position is for a Business Product Manager for the midrange server product.  The Business Product Manager is responsible for financial management, supplier management, governance, and lifecycle management of midrange servers and related tools for the enterprise.  Financial management includes providing input to financial forecast, sponsoring and obtaining approval for product and support purchases, approving product expenditures, and owning internal chargeback.  Supplier management includes accountability for third party risk for key vendors, representing product and technology interests in contract negotiations, and serving as a point of escalation with vendors for product quality issues.  Governance includes review and approval of requests to use nonstandard server types.  Lifecycle management includes ownership of products in the Enterprise Architecture system of record, working with engineering and operations to ensure readiness before bringing new server products or versions into the environment, and managing product end of life situations from an enterprise perspective, including communications, risk identification, and extended support arrangements where applicable.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 yrs relevant domain experience with technology infrastructure services

  • Ability to produce clear written communications for diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus

  • Strong analytical (Excel/database) skills

  • Demonstrated financial acumen – forecasting and budgeting, capital, depreciation, etc.

Desired Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience as a product manager

  • Experience managing a product P&L and investment budget

  • Experience setting product prices

  • Experience creating multi-year/multi-generational roadmaps

  • Vendor risk management experience

  • Knowledge of CTI technical and financial governance routines (i.e. TE/TiGOR and FCR).

  • Knowledge of CTI financial management practices (rate development, benchmarking, Schedule B)
