Consumer Product Strategy Analyst IV

Responsible for performing complex analysis aimed at improving portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting and operational performance for consumer products and the related divisions such as credit cards. While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to interact with business partners both within and external to the department. This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently drive strategic improvements. Key functions involve owning asset quality monitoring, identifying business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions, and executing strategic enhancements. Responsible for conducting interviews, training, Card Strategy Management / Consumer Product Analysts, and mentoring less tenured analysts. Communicates business trends creates financial assessments and interprets risk analytics for senior management. Proven experience at developing technical skills of their team. Sound knowledge of SAS / SQL, financial statements, and business processes preferred. 5+ years Strategic Analysis experience preferred

Responsibilities

•  Responsible for leading complex efforts to develop and deliver reporting and analytics data solutions to accomplish technology and business goals across Enterprise Credit LOBs. This includes coding, design and delivery tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation, and control of data in these data solutions and other ad-hoc management information reporting for Enterprise Credit. Guide’s stakeholders, Product Owners, and team members through the design and execution processes. This will include a focus on migration planning and execution on strategic initiatives and platform changes such as moving to SDP/Hadoop from Teradata, etc.

•  Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Requires minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers. While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to interact with business partners both within and external to the department.

•  Coordination with upstream technology teams and managing downstream impacts of information technology implementations, upgrades, conversions, etc. on reporting data platforms and processes. This includes but is not limited to updating/creating database infrastructure, ETL & Data preparation code modules, automation routines & BI infrastructure. May also include coordination with and consulting expertise to downstream reporting/strategy teams on affects to their processes, help with updating their routines and possibly training on new reporting enablement constructs we create.

•  Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within defined best practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Manages multiple moderately to largely complex projects for Enterprise Credit Reporting Support & Enablement and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.

•  Consults with senior management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements brought about by projects. Provides technical thought leadership through implementing multiple complex data solutions, and knowledge of the interaction across multiple data flows and systems. Constantly seeks better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution and challenges the status quo.

•  Mentors more junior consultants and can coach team members in best practices, coding methods, automation, issue triage, conflict resolution, documentation, etc.

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with ability to translate business strategy into achievable tactics.

•  Typically, over 10 years of related IT and Business experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

•  Working knowledge of database software and reporting tools, such as Teradata, SQL Server, Linux, etc. with an emphasis on future state technologies related to our Strategic Data Platform (SDP) such as HADOOP (SDP), HIVE, Impala, etc.

•  Advanced SQL & SAS Development including Complex Macros, Stored procedures, and Control of Flow

•  Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines

•  Design, Development & Maintenance of ETL Processes

•  Ability to package complex concepts into simple and easy to understand presentations for socialization with executive level leadership, Legal, Risk, Compliance and senior leaders which articulates associated risks and recommendations

•  Ability to apply critical thinking to technical problems & implement change

•  Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and garner consensus from multiple partners

•  Strong leadership skills

•  Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science degree preferred) or substantially equivalent experience

•  7-10+ years developing, implementing, and maintaining data preparation processes and controls 10+ years preferred

•  3-5 years of technical project management and/or related experienced experience

•  Proficiency in MS Office product suite including Visio, Excel including pivot tables, Word, and PowerPoint

    Desired Skills & Experience:

•  SME Knowledge or prior experience with Small Business Card, Business Advantage, Small Business Lines & Loans, Practice Solutions and/or Consumer Card data

•  Experience with Consumer Bank Underwriting Systems, i.e. CVL, HL, Systems of Record, BACARDI, ICDP, IEX, GCW/G*/LoanIQ/Credit Center and other Enterprise Credit Applications

•  Database Design and Review experience

•  Ability to quickly learn new data schema's and gain familiarity/ensure data integrity in an efficient manner

•  MicroStrategy Architecture & Project Development

•  Reporting & Analytics or Data visualization tools ie. Tableau, MicroStrategy
