Senior Surveillance Analyst Lead

Job Description


The Senior Surveillance Lead conducts independent transactional and process testing on a team in support of identified needs. This role may act as a test lead/SME, developing entry level testers by providing coaching and guidance. This role may or may not have direct reports. Testing completed by this role may include activities such as automated surveillance, transactional and qualitative level testing  and may be performed onsite.

The Senior Surveillance Testing Lead is accountable for quality testing execution, reporting and analysis of results. This role may participate in test script development and test design. The Senior Surveillance Testing Lead collaborates with Compliance and Operational Risk on the identification of themes and trends at the front line unit, control function and enterprise level.  This role engages with audit and has input to legal and regulatory inquiry responses as directed.

The Senior Surveillance Testing Lead may direct entry-level testers, test leaders or directly manage a specialty function. This role is accountable for accurate and timely test execution and/or supports operational and administrative initiative activities related to a Surveillance Testing Functional area including multiple stakeholders. This role interacts extensively with internal or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems. 

Daily responsibilities of the Senior Surveillance Testing Lead may include execution of test scripts, identifying and documenting defects and providing daily updates to test leads and managers as needed. This role works closely with Risk, Compliance, and SMEs to conduct testing. 

The Senior Surveillance Testing Lead has intermediate knowledge of test execution and system(s) of record required, and is able to translate business strategy into work programs and processes. This role may contribute and/or participate in multiple special projects.

The Senior Surveillance Testing Lead interacts extensively with internal and/or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems. This role translates business strategy into work programs and processes as well as operates multiple functions or disciplines with leadership attributes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years work experience in related areas such as Compliance, Global Mkts Operations, Audit.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Adaptability to dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict deadlines.

  • Experience in drafting policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.

  • Ability to communicate through verbal, written and interpretational communication skills to all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent understanding of business, markets and products

  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment

Additional Qualifications

  • Understanding of the Financial Industry, front office or back office experience or market and product knowledge (Equities, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income and Commodities/Futures Options.

  • Front office or middle office experience, or trading related experience

  • Experience using surveillance tools such as Actimize and/or Smarts Surveillance platforms

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
