Business Analyst – Wealth Management Models and Risk ID

Job Description:

The Business Analyst is responsible for providing business metric and program analysis, report management, and project support at several different levels. The position requires the incumbent to have diverse administrative expertise and to oversee various policies, programs, and initiatives, to be able to think strategically, as well as perform in a proactive manner with limited supervision. The position also requires the individual to build and maintain relationships with field management, and work closely with other organizations within the LOB.

Job Description:

The Business Analyst will support the Wealth Management Governance and Risk ID functions within the Wealth Management Business Enablement and Governance team.

The Wealth Management mandate of the team includes ensuring the Wealth Management business complies with Risk Management policy through supporting governance-related activities. The MDG team is staffed by quantitative analysts, financial markets professionals, and analytics developers. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with Model Risk Management governance requirements through:

• Coordination and facilitation of routines to support model governance – e.g. status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, tollgates, etc.
• Reviews plans and projects of the businesses to ensure alignment to strategic plans.
• Tracks various ongoing model and tool development projects, provides reporting and escalates issues

Risk Identification (Risk ID) includes the identification, escalation, and debate of risks in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Identification standard.  The successful candidate will also support Risk ID activities in the following ways:

• Collation and maintenance of the GWIM Risk ID inventory
• Review of various strategic risks, risk reporting, and process level risks and relate their impact to Risk ID inventory.
• Participation in existing governance routines for Risk Identification.
• Works with Control Partners and line of business partners to help in management of the Risk ID program.

• Ability to prioritize workload effectively and work methodically to tight deadlines
• Ability to perform to a high standard under pressure
• Good interpersonal, influencing, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to deliver across levels
• Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to operate independently and remain focused through change or uncertainty.
• BA/BS required; Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
• MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail

Desired Experience:  

• Knowledge of financial services or asset management industry
• Knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic or similar programming would be beneficial
• Background on Technology systems and processes
• Experience in Risk or understanding of risks ​
