Role Description:

The candidate will work closely with traders & quants to enhance and maintain our existing derivatives trading application suite while contributing to the buildout of the next generation of trading desktop.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior front-office technologist who wants to work directly with end users to understand their problems and turn those problems into solutions. This will involve gathering and analysing requirements, turning those requirements into a plan and executing that plan by building out both UI & server.

As a senior developer, the candidate will be expected to contribute to strategy – both around technical architecture and business workflow. This can grow into ownership of specific components within the trading stack.

Technically, we employ Python in our existing suite of applications and we’re moving towards HTML5/TypeScript/ReactJS/GraphQL.

The Team:

The team is a small group of highly talented front office developers in London who work directly with trading & quant groups. The goal of the team is to provide one-stop shops for derivatives market makers to operate in. The team covers CDS, Index, Options, Tranches, TRS with some crossover into ETF & Portfolio Trading.

Core Skills:

Required:

  • Python – preferably in a banking environment
  • FO experience – working with traders, quants etc,
  • Demonstrated interest in financial products– should be able to show excellent knowledge of at least one asset class
  • Experience mentoring junior developers

Preferred:

  • Experience in Quartz, Athena, SecDB or similar
  • Interest in HTML5, TypeScript, React, GraphQL
  • Quantitative understanding of derivatives pricing
  • Experience building etrading front-ends for bonds or derivatives
