Role Description: 

An opportunity has arisen for a Compliance & Operational Risk Manager to join the Compliance & Operational Risk (C&OR) team responsible for independent oversight of Global Technology in EMEA. EMEA Technology Compliance and Operational Risk (C&OR) is responsible for the second-line C&OR coverage for the EMEA Technology and Information Security Divisions. The team operates in a technically complex, fast-changing and dynamic environment with an excellent culture of growth, learning and development.

The C&OR Manager contributes to the requirements of the C&OR Management Program requirements with respect to EMEA Technology including, but not limited to the following activities: 
•    Produces and/or oversees the development of independent risk management reporting for respective area(s) of coverage as input governance and management routines 
•    Provides subject matter expertise to assist the Front Line Unit (FLU) / Control Function (CF) in establishing an annual learning plan, may be accountable for developing and delivering training content 
•    Develops and maintains C&OR-owned policies and standards and/or provides oversight of FLU/CF-owned policies, standards and procedures to ensure regulatory and operational risk requirements are appropriately addressed, inclusive of conduct risk as applicable 
•    Responsible for monitoring the regulatory environment to identify regulatory changes applicable to area(s) of coverage, advises business leaders on those changes, directs the appropriate areas to implement or amend policies, standards, procedures and/or processes to address regulatory requirements, and challenges the implementation plan as needed; maintains a comprehensive regulatory inventory 
•    Identifies, aggregates, reports, escalates, inspects and questions remediation plans, and performs thematic analysis on FLU/CF-owned issues and control enhancements 
•    Ensures C&OR “owned” issues and control enhancements are identified and addressed appropriately and timely 
•    Contributes to or leads development of risk coverage plans, executes and / or oversees execution of independent risk monitoring, testing and risk assessments, communicates results 
•    Reviews  and questions  the FLU/CF single process inventory and FLU/CF Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) / Risk Self Assessments (RSA)
•    Reviews and questions internal and external operational loss events, including development of remediation plans to strengthen controls, and approves where appropriate 
•    Participates in Scenario Analysis activities for coverage areas and challenges as appropriate 

In addition to day to day coverage activities the role requires working with the line of business on new initiatives including regulatory change implementation, and representing C&OR on working / steering group forums providing effective review and challenge of potential regulatory and/or operational risk issues and ensuring remediation plans proposed by the line of business are effective. The successful candidate will be required to keep abreast of European regulatory developments impacting Technology.

The team is responsible for Compliance & Operational Risk coverage for Global Technology in EMEA. The team operates in a technically complex, fast-changing and dynamic environment with an excellent culture of growth, learning and development. Key skills:

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
•    Experience in Technology, Technology Risk, preferable in Financial Services
•    Logical thinker with excellent technical skills 
•    A flexible and solution oriented perspective, and a determination and desire to find answers to complex issues
•    Strong written and verbal  communication 
•    Keen attention to detail
•    Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
