Job Description:

Make Bank of America’s critical infrastructure fast, reliable, and agile for thousands of users.  The Network Infrastructure team combines software and systems administration skills to build and operate a global DNS/DHCP/NTP infrastructure.

We need creative engineers and technologists to help us keep critical systems up while transforming the infrastructure from a traditional out of the box DNS/DHCP services to a modern service incorporating modern user facing APIs, automation code, unit/regression tests and continuous integration.

The role requires experience and administration of traditional network infrastructure as well as specialized configuration expertise in DNS and DHCP. 

The Senior DNS DHCP IP Address Management engineer will work closely with other engineers, leads, and the firm's lines of business to provide holistic DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management, and related UNIX sys admin for our business & DDI ecopartners. The candidate must possess in-depth technical knowledge of the competitive vendor landscape and be adept at translating complex technology terms for executive levels and internal customers.

Additionally, must actively apply their broad knowledge across compute, network, storage, application traffic management, automation, and security disciplines and possess a big picture vision.

Thoroughly understand the customer’s business and infrastructure challenges and collaboratively identify suitable solutions that link their business mission, strategy, and processes that will allow both the business and IT strategies to co-exist effectively and enable/drive each other.

Required Skills

• Subject matter expertise in VitalQIP and Blue Cat Network DDI platforms.
• Knowledge of one or more of these languages: Perl, Python, Java, C, C++, Unix shell script
• Ability to work in a UNIX based environment, including intermediate level sys admin tasks, without supervision. 
• Should be proficient in network protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, and UDP.  Able to read network traces to diagnose DNS and DHCP issues.
• Knowledgeable in the interaction with other network key components, such as proxies, firewalls, routers, switches, and GTMs.
• Understands network-based technologies: demonstrates competency (or capacity to be successful) in the ability to translate customer/business requirements into DNS, DHCP, and IP  Address configurations and successfully position with stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable in network management and monitoring tools (HP NNMi, Syslog, Splunk, Entuity, Tivoli ITM, HPNA, Cisco CMCS, Netscout, Bladelogic)
• 5+ years systems administration, DDI or network engineering
• Firm understanding of IT Service Management processes, program and project management (i.e. MS Project, Excel, Word, hybrid)
• Ability to manage request escalations and negotiate resolution
• Experience with ALU VitalQIP, BIND, BlueCat Networks, Linux, appliance based systems
• Knowledge of Domain Registrars, Akamai eDNS, DNSSEC, DNS ANYCAST, F5 DNS Express, AVI
