
Job Description:
This position focuses full-time on credit underwriting for Bank of America Business Capital’s West Division (“Business Capital”). Business Capital is the number one asset based lender providing financing to manufacturers, distributors and service companies with loan requirements from $5 million to $2 billion. Loans support growth, acquisitions, restructuring, refinance, expansion, recapitalization and working capital.
Position focuses on credit underwriting and review of prospects and/or new credit relationships to Business Capital. The Underwriter is an experienced credit professional capable of activity on sensitive credit transactions.
Works in a team setting with relationship managers and product specialists and is responsible to develop, structure, analyze, covenant, document, fund and close ABL transactions. Interfaces directly with clients and prospects, financial sponsors and/or financial intermediaries (including outside accountants, legal counsel, appraisers, field examiners, etc.).
Responsibilities include working in a team format to deliver a superior product to our clients, investors and the Firm. Usually requires 2+ years of related credit experience.
Required Skills:
2+ years’ experience in credit, underwriting, and structuring of lending transactions
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration
Completion of a formal credit training program is desired
Familiarity with asset-based lending across broad industries
Able to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships
Demonstrates strong teaming behavior that creates win-win solutions that build trust
Easily navigates multiple client and support organizations
Demonstrates sound judgment and acts with speed - able to achieve results quickly
Complex problem resolution abilities
Communicates crisply and candidly
