Job Description
This role is within the Merchant Services Credit & Transactional Risk organization and includes the management of select strategies and analytics supporting new account, portfolio management, transactional risk, and fraud.
Primary responsibilities include:
The ability to work with and influence Small Business & GBAM strategies inside and outside of your direct control.
- Performs in-depth analytics to optimize revenue while managing credit and fraud losses and is accountable for achievement of risk appetite goals.
- Works closely with business partners to share risk data, communicate strategy changes and drive business transformation.
- Strong analytical skills with experience manipulating large data sets in SAS or similar software, and ability to summarize findings / recommendations.
- Able to work independently to drive strategic enhancements with proven experience in managing strategies.
- Develops and manages custom reporting to understand strategy performance and drive strategy enhancements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline or commensurate work experience
- Proven analytical ability as demonstrated through 2-3+ years related work experience or sufficient internal Bank of America experience
- Knowledge of and hands on experience using database software and analytical/reporting tools, such as Python, SAS, SQL, DB2, Tableau
- Highly skilled in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Working knowledge of the process and tools used for development, validation, implementation and documentation of credit risk and/or fraud business strategies and scoring toolkits
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter
- Must be decisive and client focused
- Must be a team player, creative, strategic, and a thoughtful risk-taker
- Effective project management and organizational skills; ability to collaborate, manage, and expand relationships across the organization and with all levels of management
- Experience in using data to derive trends, detect risks, and execute strategy projects
- Strong understanding of risk strategies, financial drivers, and credit/fraud operations with proven problem solving skills
Desired Skills
- 2+ years’ experience with Merchant Services, Consumer Lending, Commercial or Small Business analytics
- Previous credit or fraud strategy experience and knowledge of policies for consumer and/or small business lending
- Direct experience using automated decision engines to drive strategy execution
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering or related field
- Analytic work experience in support of consumer or small business lending involving the use of credit bureau information
- Proven capabilities in Tableau
