Job Description

This position will be reporting to the Canada CFO.

Responsibilities

Specific areas of responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

  • Prepare month-end journal entries

  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Complete quarterly external reporting requirements

  • Maintain compliance of key control policies

  • Preparing the current and deferred tax provisions, including both US and local GAAP

  • Reconciliation of tax accounts, maintaining all supporting documentation

  • Interfacing with the US international tax team on local tax provision matters

  • Managing the tax payment and booking processes

  • Manage the data requirements, data gathering and coordinating with external advisors in the preparation of all tax filings, including income tax, sales tax and transfer pricing

  • Participate and assist in coordinating the annual external audit

Qualifications

  • Recognized accounting designation

  • Strong Canadian tax technical skills (can identify book/tax differences, understand accounting for deferred taxes), including taxation of financial institutions

  • Good understanding of indirect taxes for financial and non-financial institutions

  • Must have a combination of strong quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Well organized/able to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel essential
