This position is the Business Development Manager within the Wealth Management Performance Operations (WMPO) group.  The Wealth Management Performance Operations group maintains and supports the quality and availability of performance data utilized across Wealth Management, providing financial advisors and portfolio managers with the ability to deliver various, extensive financial reports for both managed and non-managed accounts

The Business Development Manager will coordinate and implement all business development activities across Wealth Management Performance Operations. Additional details are listed below.

  • Manage group’s continuous training program
  • Continuous evaluation of performance operations process engineering and organization design to ensure optimal performance
  • Organize routines with line of business partners: Merrill Wealth Management, Investment Solutions Group, Merrill Private Wealth, Retirement and Personal Wealth Solutions (RPWS), and the Private Bank.
  • Harmonize information across the four investment performance platforms, three vendor and one in-house solution.
  • Assist efforts for rationalizing long-term vendor strategy for Performance Operations.
  • Contribute to identifying transformation Operational Excellence opportunities.
  • Coordination of financial deliverables including but not limited to capacity plan and forecasting

  • Ability to develop comprehensive plans around key organizational priorities and ensure all accountable parties understand respective roles/responsibilities and are held accountable
  • Ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input, and when to act independently
  • Strong understanding of the regulations and risk management policies and standards
  • Excellent time management/organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments at once
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of statistical and mathematical concepts

Desired Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Series 7, 66, and 24 licenses 
  • Previous experience supporting Wealth Management lines of business
  • Prior experience handling multiple facets of an end-to-end business:  financial management, project management, governance, operations and technology management, and strategy initiatives
  • Knowledge of performance measurement and reporting
  • Basic knowledge of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS)
  • Advanced/Expert MS Office skills
