Initiative Solution Consultant

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for supporting Consumer & Small Business Credit Platforms initiatives and related efforts to identify, implement, and test cost effective technology/systemic tools to drive operational efficiencies through platform enhancements, integrated vendor, technology, and workflow solutions to drive automation. This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently drive strategic improvements. Key functions include driving credit tool solution development/proof of concepts, gathering and documenting of requirements/epics/features, supporting the development of compelling business cases and proposals, partnering with Delivery Program Managers, Platform Product Owners, Vendor Engagement, and Credit Strategy teams to implement prioritized deliverables to drive cost-effective credit solutions.  While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to interact with executives, technology leaders, and business partners both within and external.  2-5 years proven experience at strategic/business analysis, technology program management, developing technical solutions and/or workflow tools, sound knowledge of Consumer & Small Business lending processes, or similar, required. Product Owner, Project Manager experience and knowledge of SAS/SQL and SharePoint, or similar, tools a plus.

Initiative Solution Consultants will work closely with the key stakeholders to support Consumer & Small Business Credit program initiatives impacted platforms and tools including, but not limited to, driving credit tool solution development/proof of concepts, gathering of requirements/epics/features, assist in developing requirements documents, support development of compelling business cases and proposals, partnering with Delivery, Platform Product Owners, Vendor Engagement, and Credit Strategy teams to implement prioritized deliverables to drive cost-effective credit solutions. 

Examples of responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Process Design to helping define solutions to support operational processes
  • Collaborate with all of partners to find technology and solutions to resolve business challenges
  • Seek out systems solutions (either internal to client or external 3rd party solutions) that can be leveraged to meet business requirements
  • Support annual tech planning and funding for project requests with strong business cases that align to strategic priorities
  • Manage the delivery of business cases, project scope and requirements documents, test plans, and rollout communications
  • Support programs by acting as primary liaison with business functions and solution management/product owners for Consumer & SB Credit platforms during the development lifecycle, from needs analysis to UAT and rollout
  • Develop and manage direct relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure the business solutions are aligned with their goals and priorities, and how process automation through IT solutions will help them reach their goals.
  • Clearly understand, articulate and document existing “as-is” systems & business architecture and define strategy for “to-be” architecture
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, architectures and standards for obtaining solutions
  • Provide in-depth business & technical strategy for systems solutions, identify business gaps and correlate to potential solutions
  • Assist in driving requirement prioritization process by which decisions are made around the final project scope
  • Execute on project plans/assist others in executing on project plans across the various groups supported
  • Ensure line of business priorities and IT capabilities (technology and resources) are aligned
  • Analyze and document requirements and use appropriate techniques to refine, review and validate requirements

  • Development of high level business requirements
  • Use Case Assessment (Robotics, Vendor Solutions, etc.)
  • Support development of solutions & tools – i.e. Tableau

  • Practical knowledge of BAC Change Management policies
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Project
  • Bachelors Degree

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Consumer & Small Business Credit Platforms (ICDP/GUS/GMS) and decision engines including PowerCurve
  • Practical knowledge of Consumer & SB datamarts and lineage
  • Direct Credit Underwriting experience of Consumer and Small Business products
  • Product Owner/Manager
  • User Acceptance Testing Experience
  • Experience utilizing testing and Agile tools including JIRA and ALM
  • Experience with database query tools including SQL, Toad, and SAS
  • Masters Degree
