
Job Description:
Responsible for overseeing the accounting process for derivative counterparty netting including systems administration for the bank's Global Allocation and Netting Engine (GANE). Applies technical or product specific accounting knowledge to ensure strong financial controls and reporting output. Job requires good knowledge of Derivative and Collateral accounting, Project management, and fire fighting skills. Responsible for resolution of accounting exceptions.
Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and complete recording of FIN 39 netting transactions for stand-alone financials and top-of-house reporting
Month-end close, incl. journal entry preparation, monthly financial variance analysis, including research, documentation and communication of account fluctuations
Accounts reconciliation and substantiation
Suspense monitoring & resolution
Coordinate SOX Map walk-throughs and support quarterly/year-end audit inquiries
Platform Development and Support, incl. Project Management (i.e. System Integration Testing, UAT, Parallel)
Assessing impact of CCP rule book changes on netting process for stand-alone financials and Top-of-house reporting
Analyze current processes and make recommendations for process improvement
CPA and/or MBA in Finance preferred
Required Skills:
Minimum 10 Years of Accounting and/or Financial Services Experience
3-5 years of product-specific experience
Knowledge of SOX, SAP, Oracle
Excellent Excel skills
Ability to identify and implement business process improvements
Ability to translate complex issues into simple terms
Ability to step in and provide leadership across peers consistently
Strong technical and regulatory knowledge
Excellent time management skills with ability to coordinate and review multiple tasks and deliverables to flawless execution
Builds partnerships with team and stakeholders
Strong analytical & communication skills
