Position Description

As a Channel Payments Platform Product Manager, you will work as a part of a team to successfully deliver the Channel Payables  product strategy to APAC clients. The purpose of this role is to be the regional platform product manager/owner for the Channel Payments applications and to coordinate/consolidate business requirements across Asia Pacific region to ensure that the platform meets the core requirements across the full breadth of our international footprint.  This position will support the rollout across the region and manage the requirements development process determining which requirements are core global requirements required for all countries versus country specific requirements. It will also coordinate with each country across the Asia Pacific region and global partners to determine any functionality gaps between requirements and the platform’s capabilities.  The role will ensure that product gaps are appropriately documented, prioritized and reviewed through the appropriate governance forums. In addition, you will work closely with other Digital Channels product managers to improve bank channel capabilities, research and provide feedback on fast changing digitalization activities in the banking industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of the regional strategy and tactics for the vendor payments platform. 

  • Collaborate with business partners in GTS including Regional and Global Product Management, Technology, Compliance, Operations and Legal  to develop holistic Channel payments requirements and country-specific requirements and use cases for initial rollout and ongoing enhancements

  • Review high-level and low-level design documents and ensure tracability to business requirements to validate that all business requirements are met in the most effective and efficient methods.

  • Coordinate with Product and Operations to develop appropriate internal and external client communications.

  • Coordinate with Technology and Regional Partners to develop payments platform metrics, migration plans and  ensure that enhancements are being communicated internally and considered for implementation where appropriate.

  • Gather market intelligence on changing payment landscape. Identify opportunities and debate ideas to ensure bank’s digital channel strategy is well in touch with market needs

  • Active monitoring of regulatory, compliance policy changes and apply guidelines to payment processes and procedures

  • Develop product-training materials and sales tools

  • Active participation in risk management forums

 Required skills:

  • 7+ years payments product management or development experience

  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with remote management

  • Strong knowledge of channels and/or payments infrastructures across Asia Pacific including the new Real Time Payment systems and ISO 20022

  • Ability to influence across multiple organizations including Product, Technology, Operations and Compliance

  • Ability to present to business partners and executives, demonstrating good communication skills

  • Experience in formulating and documenting business requirements

  • Demonstrate initiative, follow-through and the ability to work with limited supervision

  • Ability to learn quickly, core capabilities including end-to-end operational and technology workflows, processes and key business contacts, client buying behavior by different segments and specific global and regional solutions

  • Good at detailed work with strong analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel

  • Ability to travel occasionally, including international travel

  • Flexibility required including occasional early morning or late evening meetings

Desired Skills:

  • Agile product development experience

  • Experience working on large scale transformation projects spanning multiple geographies, nice to have

  • Experience with technology development and testing processes
