Software Engineer III

Job Description:

The Commodities Front Office Technology team at Bank of America are looking to add a python (Quartz) developer, who will focus on the production of EOD & Intraday Risk for the trading desks.

Work will include:

• On-boarding the remaining commodities desks (including power, index and exotics) to our new Live/Intraday Risk Engine
• Contribute to enhancing existing Risk and PnL generation as required for the crude/emea gas/base & precious metals desks
• Provision of timely fixes/enhancements to Finance and Market Risk feeds
• Development of commodities specific FRTB/SFRC risk reporting
• Possible involvement with cutting edge projects which aspire to consolidate trade capture, pricing and risk generation across many Lines of Business (FICC & Equities)

There are equivalent Front Office technology teams across other Lines of Business, with which the candidate will need to collaborate effectively.

The team partners closely with new members, enabling them to learn the Commodities business, the FO risk technology stack, and establish relationships with the trading desks.

The individual will be expected to liaise regularly with Traders, Quants, Finance along with equivalent Front Office technology teams across other lines of business - so strong communication skills are vital.

Required

- Structured software development experience (3 years+ python preferred, but we’re open to other OO languages)

- Solid communication skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with the business

- Collaborative software development approach

- Self motivated and driven to provide solutions for complicated problems, both technical and financial

Preferred

- Experience with pricing and analytics for Commodities derivatives, or other financial asset classes

- Experience working on (or closely with) a trading desk at a bank or on the buy side

- Experience with Agile development practices
