Intermediate Financial Analyst

Job Description:

The Intermediate Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of required end to end reporting to Fannie Mae, inclusive of investor and default reporting, and modification settlement based on investor guidelines.

The Analyst's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures Daily and Monthly reporting to Fannie Mae are completed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Ensures fund remittances are completed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Performs Monthly required Reconciliations.
  • Adheres to all investor guidelines.
  • Researches and resolves Test of Expected and/or Bank Reconciliation cash discrepancies as required.
  • Performs root cause analysis and resolves reporting exceptions; collaborates with upstream business partners for full resolution as required.
  • Answers inquiries from various departments, management team, as well as, investor.
  • Gather and respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist on special projects relating to process improvements and/or internal system enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years experience in mortgage banking environment.
  • Ability to independently manage a high degree of responsibility.
  • Proactively detects, analyzes, and resolves operational issues and prevents recurrence.
  • Experience gathering large amounts of data, conducting analysis and presenting results/findings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface cross functionality with other departments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills necessary.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Advanced application skills in Excel and SQL.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • BS in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • Understanding of Investor Reporting principles.
  • Strong Qualitative and Quantative Analytical skills.
  • Strong Technical skills (SQL MicroStrategy, Tableau).
