Sr. Lead Scrum Master

Job Description:

The Sr. Lead Scrum Master provides effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching skills supporting the agile development process and delivery of our applications. As an agile expert, the Sr. Lead Scum Master will be responsible for enforcing the agile principals as interpreted by multiple teams, removing impediments, and promoting empowerment. This position is highly responsible and accountable and will challenge the teams and strive for improving agile best practices. This position requires technical understanding of software development and technology.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Ensure that the Agile processes are fully executed. 
  • Work to guide and coach others (scrum leaders) about the ART and Lean-Agile practices.
  • Assign, coordinate, and review work and activities of programming personnel. Oversee the multiple scrum team (Release Train) and the SAFe framework to ensure its functioning and productivity. 
  • Reporting status updates and metrics to senior leadership on the performance and efficiency of the Release Train. 
  • Facilitate risk management of the releases. 
  • Work to define working agreements for the releases. 
  • Support the Product manager when necessary.
  • Influences and partners with business to understand business strategy. Interacts on a regular basis with business leadership to ensure needs are understood and Technology updates are communicated on a consistent basis.
  • Possesses an excellent understanding of the business processes, strategy and global perspective
  • Identifies technical capabilities required to support the business processes and collaborates in the development of information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy.
  • Translates business requirements into functional requirements; performs business process mapping.
  • Partners with Corporate Technology Teams to ensure user and functional requirements are understood.
  •  Ensures Technology Project Management, Development, Testing and Implementation activities are established per project with Technology Partners. 
  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships across all levels within Technology organization and external suppliers. 
  • Work with Business & Technology partners to devise new programs that support organization objective, strategy, and goals
  • Must be comfortable in collaborating with business leads, understanding business strategy/processes, looking for innovative solutions to drive business enhancements both for internal business users and external customers.
  • Must have worked effectively with all levels of management up to and including Division Directors and VPs
  •  Experience with the following technologies a plus: Hadoop, Tableau, Machine Learning, AI, Natural Language processing, Nexidia/NICE Call Analytics

Minimum qualifications:
 

  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master/RTE
  • 5+ years of technology experience
  • Strong Jira skills
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills, ability to manage conflict
  • Experience with both Kanban and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience in coaching and leading teams new to Agile
  • Must be an excellent team leader with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Understanding of software development skills: JAVA, C#, .NET, SQL is preferable
  • Experience with teams performing new development while simultaneously supporting production applications
  • Experience with communicating status and providing updates to executive level management
  • Experience with negotiating prioritization between Product Owners and Technical leadership
  • Experience working with agile methodology on large scale, technically complex projects for a large enterprise
  • Highly adaptable to a constantly changing environment
  • Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse and a geographically dispersed team
  • Must be self-motivated, as well as, creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Must be collaborative in driving decisions and able to deal with all levels of management and stakeholders
