Portfolio Strategy Manager

Our portfolio strategy mission is to create synergy and drive innovation across lines of businesses through strategic planning and visioning to ensure alignment to our enterprise design strategy and the continued improvement of our employee’s experience. 

As a Portfolio Strategy Manager, you

Have a natural ability to reduce complexity, tell compelling stories, and identify connections that makes you a trusted partner to clients across our organization who frequently seek your insights on creative and strategic matters. You feel comfortable setting the vision and overseeing the execution across a range of design disciplines, including research, visual design, web and mobile design, and content strategy. You feel comfortable executing directly on key deliverables as needed, and maintain exceptional quality across your own work and that of those in your portfolio. You are a leader who empowers others to achieve excellence. You know how to give regular feedback and effectively delegate.  You thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and cross-disciplinary team environment.

  

You will

Help set and manage the creative vision and experience design strategy within the lines of business you support, and translate it into tactical execution, while maintaining overall alignment to our enterprise design strategy.   Build relationships and trust with senior executives, business product owners and Enterprise & technology users through regular engagements and interactions. You will ensure initiative work is properly resourced and that resources are optimally utilized across the supported portfolio’s book of work.  You will drive the adoption of consumer-grade experience across the portfolios’ internal applications.  You will contribute to and promote horizontal reuse and reusable design paradigms working with other portfolio strategy managers and delivery leads.  You will consistently raise the bar and reset expectations for employee-facing experiences through continued partnership and education. You will be an advocate for users with an obsessive focus on purposeful design that addresses a human need or solves a problem. You will be an ambassador for our brand, ensuring designs are familiar, intuitive, and accessible for all.

You’re a person who has

10+ years of design and leadership experience with a focus on design and business strategy

Exceptional communication and relationship building skills

Experience driving and influencing strategic adoption of experience design including planning multi-year/multi-generational roadmaps

Experience leading creative brainstorming and visioning sessions and is a Blue-sky thinker

Experience working in an Agile environment

Experience managing or leading the design across multiple platforms, web, native iOS and Android

Leadership experience either from managing a team of designers or leading design efforts across multiple projects

Experience with Sketch and/or Axure is required. Additional experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design and management tools is a plus.

A strong portfolio that shows a commitment to user centered design and showcases leadership thinking

Experience applying brand and digital standards

Experience with designing for accessibility

And you are a person who:

Is an enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and an intense focus on achieving results

Owns your schedule and delivers on time

Embraces the opportunity to work in an office while collaborating with teammates and partners in other locations (not remote) - *Temporarily remote due to COVID but will return to office when it is safe to do so.

You’ll be better prepared if you have

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design or related discipline

Financial or similar industry experience

Experience with of human-centered design methodologies and rapid ideation processes such as Lean XD and Design Sprints
