The Global Markets Balance Sheet Control team currently an exciting opportunity for a Business Financial Control Product Analyst to join their Chester based team. Alongside the daily and monthly tasks, there is scope for the successful candidate to become involved in team and individual projects from an early stage.

The role offers fantastic exposure, not only within the Business Finance group, but to those on trading desks up to an MD level.  It also provides varied and interesting interaction with a range of other support partners across the bank

The range of responsibilities will allow the incumbent a wide exposure to an Equities and FICC businesses in a dynamic environment giving them many learning opportunities in the team and a good grounding in the Global Markets businesses. 

Career progression within the team and the Bank is actively supported and encouraged with recent team members moving on to other roles within Finance, Project Management and Front Office including overseas opportunities within the Bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and review daily P&L and balance sheet and analysis for the ESSL business

  • Provide analysis and support on ad hoc issues in the wider EMEA ESSL business

  • Financial metrics regarding business performance for senior management with direct ownership of weekly reporting to the Global ESSL business head

  • Quarterly disclosure reporting

  • Price testing

  • Contributing to the wider team and departmental initiatives

The Team:

Global Markets Balance Sheet Control is a team of 7 in EMEA. The team supports Finance and the Business across Global Markets, focusing on balance sheet control and optimisation.

The team range from newly graduated individuals starting their chartered accountancy qualifications to through to fully Chartered accountants with up to 15 years of experience supporting a range of businesses within the bank.

Core Skills:

  • Accountancy qualification and experience - ACA, ACCA or CIMA

  • Understands and applies knowledge of financial concepts, principles, products and other relevant financial information

  • Advanced Excel with experience of Access or Alteryx an advantage

  • Exposure to Equity products

  • Proven experience of providing process improvements
