Job Title: Python Developer - Market Risk

Role Description:

Collaborative teamwork to design software components, Providing leadership in terms of good software practice, Developing software solutions in Python to meet business needs , Leveraging good test practice / unit testing / TDD, Writing efficient SQL / working efficiently with large data sets , Contributing to the Agile process as a team member.

The Team:

The Dublin Market Risk Technology team work within the Global Market Risk Technology group of Bank of America.

The direct team is a small well-established group delivering key projects for Market Risk. The team has exposure to different technologies e.g. database, UI (React), UNIX, Python and business / market risk exposure allowing team members to learn new skills constantly.

Within the team training and self-development are highly encouraged and vast training material is always available and accessible.

Core Skills:

Required:

  • BS/MS in computer science or engineering
  • Fluency in Python
  • Competent RDBMS experience / efficient SQL
  • Design low-latency, high availability, and performant applications
  • Work collaboratively with team to understand requirements and provide technical solutions
  • Comprehension of how to operate code versioning tools e.g. git
  • Can write high quality/coverage unit tests to ensure delivery of high-quality software

Preferred:

Good communication skills

Experience of front-end technologies e.g. JavaScript / React
