Sr. Relationship Manager/Relationship Manager - Middle Market (Los Angeles Metro)

Job Description:

Great opportunity to join our Commercial Banking Team! The Middle Market segment of the Commercial Bank serves public and private companies with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion.

This position supports the Los Angeles Metro Middle Market group within the Global Commercial Bank. The Sr. Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of middle market relationships who need financial services and products. In addition to being the primary bank advocate and key strategic advisor for the relationship, the SRM is accountable for prospecting new business and expanding existing relationships. The SRM is expected to engage in dialogue with CEO and CFO levels regarding industry trends, capital structure, and traditional bank products. The SRM must be well versed in all Bank of America products and services for proper identification of cross-selling opportunities as they are responsible for leading a team of partners in the effective delivery of their products and services. The SRM must be able to assess the financial profile of the client and develop an appropriate overall client strategy. This role requires a minimum of 7 years in Commercial Banking or similar experience. 

Position may be filled as a Sr. Relationship Manager or Relationship Manager, depending on candidate experience and qualifications.

Office location is Downtown Los Angeles.

Required Skills

  • Undergraduate degree required:  Majors in business, finance or economics preferred
  • Minimum 7 years Commercial Banking or similar experience
  • Demonstration of management of a client portfolio of middle market or corporate banking relationships
  • Proven track record of prospecting new business and enhancing existing relationships in the Los Angeles market
  • Proven sales skills and experience, including planning, execution and follow up of client meetings
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and industry trends, as well as analyze the financial profile of a middle market client
  • Financial modeling and the completion of a formal credit training or similar in role experience
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating within a team environment
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 &  63 (Must obtain full securities licensing within 180 days of start date)

Desired Skills

  • MBA or CFA
  • Active network of contacts and centers of influence in the Los Angeles area
  • Industry expertise within Consumer Retail, Food, Industrials or Business Service industries
