Software Engineer III, Risk Technology

Job Description:

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

Looking for a strong, innovative software engineer to join the Trinity team as this platform continues to expand usage of OCR/NLP capabilities supporting EIT’s multi-year vision to become the central testing utility for the bank and transform the business process testing experience. The transformation includes the ability to automate, digitize and scale up to test all end to end business processes. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to standing up new/enhancing existing OCR/NLP solutions and integrations with existing EIT Tech applications or external service providers that host/support various testing, automation or document classification solutions
  • Design and Deliver innovative, software solutions along the complete software development lifecycle through requirements, design, develop, test, debug, release and support Agile methodology
  • Provide designs and solutions to technical problems and think out of the box considering various business use cases, architectural considerations or technical constraints
  • Participate in team ceremonies such as sprint planning, story grooming and contribute to story estimation and refinement supporting the agile software development methodology
  • Work closely with various stakeholders such as Project managers, Product owners, Feature leads, Scrum masters, production support teams and other external, dependent systems to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Expected to work very closely with the core offshore development/QA team to guide team in estimating work, performing code reviews and resolving technical complexities
  • Ensure solutions deployed into production are well designed for maintainability, incorporate appropriate controls and meet non-functional/compliance requirements.   This includes owning on-going support for application risk related deliverables for Trinity

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional development skills in any functional language (Python / Database experience (preferred), designing solutions with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset
  • First-hand experience in working in a data intensive platform with API integrated system connectivity
  • Knowledge or experience of agile development and continuous integration/deployment practices
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills to decompose requirements, with the ability to think out of the box as appropriate
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and design patterns including why/where to use them
  • Solid knowledge of contemporary development processes, build environments and testing tools
  • Candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, inclusive of engaging with business users
  • Strong ability to work cross functionally and effectively manage developing solutions with critical dependencies on external systems in different organizations
  • Experience with collaborating with production support teams on level 3 development issues, as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Risk Management, Compliance or related fields
  • Knowledge of core banking functions, processes and operations
  • Experience with working in a data science domain, AI/ML/NLP tools and technologies
  • Experience with database systems such as Oracle, Hadoop
  • Experience in using Jenkins, SonarQube and various CI/CD tools
  • Knowledge of unit testing and automated methods and tools
