Job Description:

Responsible for leading focused streams of work around specific client needs. To support Directors and Managing Directors in developing tactical plans within the broader GCIB strategic mandate, specific to the targeted client group.

  • Begin building relationships to generate deals & bring in business

  • Central point of contact between: clients, lawyers, financial regulators & legal teams involved in all deals

  • Manage and develop direct junior (Analyst and Associate) resources and activities across the global franchise in order to deliver the Bank’s products and services to the client

  • To ensure the Bank’s activities are conducted in a compliant and risk free manner

  • Responsible for the attraction and development of junior talent and following such performance management procedures as the company’s policies dictate, under the guidance of a Director or Managing Director

The Team

  • The UK and Ireland Investment banking team includes 11 MDs and a further 40 other colleagues who focus is on UK and Irish opportunities

  • Our prime focus is on covering our 55 clients where we are nominated adviser and corporate broker including 30 in the FTSE100 ranging from HSBC to Diageo via Just Eat to GSK but we are also responsible for all other UK business including UK  IPOs, sellsides and other capital raisings.

  • We are an integrated team dong both the broking and advisory coverage as well as any M&A or equity execution

  • We aim to give a very wide range of experience across products and sectors

  • Due to our large corporate broking franchise our juniors will have direct client exposure from an early stage

Core skills

  • Excellent analytical skills are required

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • In depth experience of delivering investment banking products and advisory services to clients

  • Significant understanding of credit fundamentals

  • Demonstrable ability to understand financing needs and match client needs with the most appropriate product / service

  • Team player – evidence of having built, developed and led teams

  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language a plus

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical discipline such as economics or finance)
