Associate – GCIB Business Controls

Job Description Summary

Key individual contributor on the GCIB Business Controls team, issue remediation, Identify and Access Management and Fraud.  This position will be focused on various elements of the control environment, including entering and updating audit issues and ensuring access reviews are completed in a timely manner.

This position requires the ability to multi-task, assist others with complex items and those that require extensive research, while independently prioritizing and delivering individual responsibilities.  Must build strong relationships with Business Partners across LOBs and have in-depth understanding of the business unit's operations processes and implications on other groups within the operations function and other divisions within the company.   Will also be expected to think analytically and contribute to effective solutions to tactical challenges.  Expected that the analyst will participate in other Controls projects when necessary to ensure that deadlines associated with key deliverables are met.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Business Controls and Audit within a Business operational function.
  • Preferred candidates will have a background in one or more of the following areas:  Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, Finance or Governance
  • Familiarity with Global Investment Banking
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills – ability to drive root cause analysis, focus on details, identify issues, prioritize quickly and recommend solutions
  • Highly organized, able to effectively plan/manage deliverables and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Advanced proficiency in various MS tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint  
  • Strong written & oral communication and presentation skills;  able to present  data in a clear and concise manner appropriate for all levels of management
  • Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise across a broad spectrum of issues
  • Ability to work independently – set and manage plans, achieve results
  • Ability to influence desired outcome without direct management responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent 

Preferred experience

  • Strong knowledge of Global Corporate and Investment Banking lines of business
  • Issues management experience
