We provide strong advisory expertise, capitalizing on powerful mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital markets, corporate banking, and treasury product expertise to deliver integrated financial solutions.

Within our Global Corporate and Investment Bank we are creating a new ESG Advisory and Financing Solutions team.  This group will house ESG expertise within GCIB. The team will support Product and Banking Industry partners to help determine how ESG impacts their clients’ cost of capital and strategic initiatives, while also advising on and structuring transactions to meet the clients’ ESG goals.  Our aim is to provide highest quality advice on all ESG matters, informed by in-depth knowledge of markets, investor preferences, and regulatory requirements. Everything thing we do will be guided by a goal to support our clients in their transition to a low carbon environment and desire have a positive social impact.

The ESG Capital Markets (ESG CM) team will now be housed within the ESG Advisory and Financing Solutions team, and are the experts on ESG-focused investors within GCIB. The team leverages this expertise to help issuers maximize receptivity to their capital markets transactions within the ESG investor base. Key functions of ESG CM include structuring ESG-labeled capital raises such as Green Bonds and Sustainability-Linked Bonds, ESG-focused positioning, and optimization of ESG-oriented disclosure and IR materials. We work closely with industry partners in Corporate and Investment Banking as well as Debt and Equity Capital Markets to deliver strategic advice to clients across the Americas.

Job Description

The Analyst/Associate in the ESG Capital Markets team will report to the head of ESG Capital Markets, Americas, helping to deliver the full breadth of Bank of America Securities’ ESG expertise to our Capital Markets clients.

Key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive ESG market analysis, trends and updates to BofA’s corporate clients as well as the full Americas region of BofA’s Global Corporate and Investment Banking division
  • Preparation of best-in-class meeting materials to help drive client dialogue and win business
  • Partner closely with Banking and Product teammates in the Americas region to help clients navigate the capital markets from an ESG perspective, including advice on ESG and sustainability-themed investor disclosure
  • Originate new Green, Social and Sustainability Bonds and other ESG-financing solutions across industries and client segments, advising clients on structure, documentation, marketing and execution of new transactions
  • Expand BofA’s leadership in ESG Capital Markets into new market segments including High Yield bonds, convertible bonds, and equities, as well as new products such as Sustainability-Linked Bonds and Loans
  • Participate in deal teams to drive the execution phase of awarded business; lead ESG work streams with respect to preparation of roadshows and investor presentations
  • Work with legal counsel regarding the preparation of documentation and at times with Second Party Opinion providers to review potential ESG-themed bond structures
  • Partner with syndicate and market sales teams to collect investor feedback, respond to investor questions, and stay abreast of ESG market trends
  • Work collaboratively with other Bank personnel so as to represent the Firm in the highest possible light
  • Participate in and contribute to campus recruiting and other efforts to build the business in a broader context

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Familiarity with major sustainability trends and the influence they have on corporations and capital markets
  • Exposure to fundamentals of finance, as well as debt and/or equity capital markets
  • Series 63 and 79 FINRA certifications, or willingness to pursue immediately after joining BofA
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, distinguished written and oral communications skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office programs; experience with Bloomberg terminals, MSCI ESG Manager, Morningstar Direct, and other financial industry data sources is a plus
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English; ability to communicate in Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese is beneficial
