Operations Project Consultant - LIQ Tax

Job Description:

This role will support the Tax Control Operations team within the Shared Service and Control Operations group in Credit Operations. The role is an individual contributor viewed as an extension of the leadership team providing oversight to a small control unit. Responsibilities focus on the day to day resolution of complex problems and oversight of the daily business activities in partnership with the team manager. The successful candidate must have a strong ability to problem solve, prioritize, and successfully lead the operational unit. Up to 50% of time can be spent completing actual production work depending on business needs. May provide feedback on team projects, performance, and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnership with Tax Control Specialists in the day to day execution of business activities and problem resolution.

  • Processing, analyzing, and evaluating complex participant lender tax situations.

  • Perform quality inspections, reporting, and support BAU activities as needed.

  • Drive to exceed performance goals, manage service levels, and metrics.

  • Provide 360-feedback, skill development, and training to partners and peers as needed.

  • Participate in project management and/or process improvement initiatives.

  • Disseminate information regarding policies, procedures, roles and responsibilities including regulation requirements, as applicable.

  • Identify and solve for process efficiencies and enhancements.

Required Skills:

  • Highly organized with demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to target messaging to different audiences.

  • Able to independently drive and assist with meeting daily service level agreements (SLA).

  • Strong organizational, problems solving, and decision making skills.

  • Demonstrated “self-starter” and willingness to collaborate with others, including partners, leaders, and peers.

  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to multi-task to complete various deliverables.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • College degree, certifications, 3 to 4 years related experience, or equivalent.

Desired Skills:

  • Tax withholding, refund, and reporting, experience (1099/1042s reporting) a plus

  • Syndicated lending experience

  • Systems: Content Navigator, DISC IRS, Documentum, eLedger/BEx Web, Global Document System (GDS), Global INvestigation (GIN), iCon, Microsoft Excel, Misys LoanIQ, PolicyTech, PowerPoint, SharePoint
