Director- Data Strategy and Management, Data Steward Executive, Global Corporate and Investment Banking COO Team

Job Description:

The Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) Data Strategy and Management team is responsible for establishing data management strategy and data governance for GCIB.  In this capacity, the candidate will partner closely with representatives from all GCIB product areas, other lines of business and Enterprise functions, and support partners including Technology and Model Risk Management.  The successful candidate will be responsible for overarching GCIB data strategy and governance and will drive related strategic initiatives and projects.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data governance organization accountable for adherence with the Enterprise Data Management Policy and Standards

  • End to management for a portfolio of strategic initiatives

  • Perform in-depth analysis of the data structures used within GCIB including deal, client and reference data

  • Interface with various Technology and quantitative groups representing providers and consumers of GCIB data

  • Conduct research of issues related to data quality, definitions, transformations, and applications for specific use cases

Competencies and Requirements

  • 10+ years of exposure to financial markets/products, preferably with exposure to Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, or Treasury Services

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Technology and quantitative disciplines to deliver business objectives

  • Strategic thinker and execution minded

  • Strong detail orientation supported by ability to take a structured approach to achieve long term objectives and build sustainable routines 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with poise to communicate with senior leaders

  • Ability to positively influence others, regardless of seniority, in order to achieve results

  • Able to adapt to changing business/regulatory environments

  • Excellent time management skills and able to manage multiple competing/concurrent activities

  • Must be able to work well in collaborative team environment, but also independently
