VP/Director, Product Manager – Cash Sales Trading Execution

The Equity Execution Platform Group is looking for an individual to take responsibility to manage particular product and platform priorities for the Cash Sales Trading business.

The role will focus on the client relationship management (CRM), order and execution management and data workflows, applications and priorities of the Cash Equities Sales desks. This will require the candidate to become deeply familiar with the end to end lifecycle of products and trade flows across cash & swap business units. This further entails having a deep understanding of the markets, clients and products utilized and managed by these desks. The role requires experience and understanding of vendor technologies and industry wide sales and communication tools and trends (e.g. Bloomberg, Symphony) as well as client expectations and trends in relation to pre, post and intra-trade reporting. The successful candidate will be a core subject matter expert and a critical pillar in driving sales trading strategies and implementing change across the Equities infrastructure.  

Role:

  • Define Product strategy in close collaboration with sales and equities management
  • Define detailed design requirements in conjunction with critical support partners. e.g. Technology, Sales & Trading, Compliance, Legal, Operations, ETRM,  etc.
  • Manage and govern key Equities investment initiatives, e.g. execution related OPEX investments
  • Drive detailed analysis of priority products, clients and markets to establish product baselines, peer insights and commercial opportunities
  • Establish coherent, well defined business cases and work with management to pitch investment opportunities
  • Be an active participant in discussions and influence decisions around the end to end sales trading lifecycle and the strategic equities architecture
  • Work closely with Technology and Product partners to maintain oversight of our investments, progress and regulatory obligations

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive Product strategy for the Cash Sales Trading business;
    • Define and document business opportunities and pitch investment cases
    • Document requirements and ensure product delivery aligns to user and client requirements
    • Measure product baselines and define KPIs and target metrics with Sales and Trading
    • Explore industry, client and competitor trends to ensure product remains relevant and forward looking
  • Ensure the ongoing delivery of critical equities product as follows:
  • Robust governance and management of core investments and priorities
  • Work and collaborate with IT and Support partners
  • Influence and shape future investment and design decisions in  conjunction with Equities management and business leads

Required Qualifications:

  • CRM and Sales background with strong understanding of workflow and process driven mind-set
  • Excellent communication skills to work with sales, trading, product, technology, and support partners globally
  • Strong team work and ability to collaborate with others
  • Excellent problem solver with an ability to work independently and comfortable working in a fluid environment with shifting priorities
  • Prior experience of Core cash, ETF, Delta One and Index Rebalance products and strategies
  • Highly motivated and strong desire to learn business and new technologies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with managing operational or system risk
  • Some coding/scripting experience (with knowledge of best practices) in Java/Python preferred
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered
  • Project Management certifications/Experience
