Job Description:

Position Summary

Bank of America is seeking a Product Owner with proven expertise working on complex software products and delivering on complex initiatives. This role will support and grow our card linked offers space with our BankAmeriDeals and Partner products.
This person will be responsible for maximizing the value of our BankAmeriDeals and Partner products. Defines the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team. Works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to ensure there is alignment. Possess a working knowledge of the product, and basic understanding of the business or technology domain. With some guidance, creates the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain. Communicates the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs and problems. Creates and prioritizes work for one team. Learning to collaborate with cross-functional teams. With some guidance, creates and prioritizes stories in the product backlog. Refines stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints. Reviews and accepts stories and is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements. Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business.

Required Skills

  • Strong Technology Product Owner / Business / System Analyst experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories
  • Experience working with development teams to ensure that the team is eliminating tech debt, enabling feature functionality and designing the right solutions
  • Experience developing appropriate detailed specifications and acceptance Criteria for business enablement, technology enablement and tech debt features
  • Deep understanding of various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience working on multiple projects/efforts simultaneously
  • Strong relationship, verbal and written communication, teambuilding, and influencing skills
  • Analytical experience – ability to interpret business requirements into technical solutions, issue resolution, risk mitigation and avoidance
  • Ability to work with multiple business partners, ensuring business requirements are identified, documented, communicated and coordinated

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of core banking functions, processes and operations
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience in sizing technical work including features / stories
  • Prior experience with program/project management tools, including Jira, Nexus, GPP/ PPRT, PCM, etc.
  • Familiarity with UX management and processes
  • Card linked offers experience
