Communications Executive I

Job Description:

This Communications Executive I role will providing writing and content development expertise for the Communications, Content and Governance team within the Corporate Communications organization.

This position will be a senior-level writer who will have the opportunity to lead executive writing and other content development in support of company priorities and programs. This includes the creation of communications supporting company-wide and line of business priorities to numerous internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities include

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, executive leadership and communications teammates across the company to develop strategic content.
  • Develop content in various formats, including executive speeches and talking points, video scripting, opinion-editorial pieces, internal and external program messaging.
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor, actively engaging senior management to recommend venues and channels for effective message delivery and constructs messaging for high impact
  • May indirectly or directly manage and collaborate with other communications professionals.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years related experience delivering executive-level communications, including presentations, storylines, message testing and structuring, testimony, issue briefs, news releases, broadcast content development as part of a Corporate Communications function
  • Degree in communications or related field (public relations, journalism, English, etc.)
  • Experience writing for various internal and external channels (media, broadcast, social media, format, speech, Q&A, etc.)
  • Proven experience with various communications deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing experience and strategic message development and delivery;
  • Strong executive presence; skilled relationship builder and influencer;
  • Proficient with core writing and editing software and presentation programs.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects, setting goals and objectives for cross-functional teams and driving integration among multiple partners and functions; and
  • Track record for effectively influencing outcomes, including managing strong relationships outside direct reporting hierarchy.
