Role Description:

The role sits within the EMEA Global Banking and Credit Risk Corporate Audit team at an VP level and involves working closely with the teams in the APAC, Americas and LATAM regions.

  • The role involves playing a lead role in the audits of Global Banking front office and Credit Risk audits. We expect the individual to work as an individual contributor or as an Auditor In-charge on regional / global audits and conduct testing independently but maintain ongoing interaction with the other regional audit team.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and competence. Stay informed of current economic developments, applicable regulations, risk, processes, and controls relevant to Global Banking and / or Credit Risk Management.

  • Exercise critical and out of box thinking, analytical skills and professional judgment to influence business partners, senior business managers and peers.  Help business partners to balance their business strategy with appropriate risk management controls.

  • Work in a very detailed manner as well as look broadly across a population and develop connections and themes identifying risks and concerns. 

  • Develop and mentor junior team members by providing day to day coaching and guidance

The Team:

The team provides audit coverage of Global Banking business globally and Credit Risk Management in EMEA, which covers the full suite of businesses across Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB), and Commercial Banking (GCB).

Global Banking business covers:

  • Equity Capital Markets (IPO, Secondary equity issuance, private equity issue, PIPE issuance, Private side Block Trade origination) - Advisory, Underwriting and Distribution

  • Debt Capital Markets (Bond issuance, leverage finance) - Advisory, Underwriting and Distribution

  • Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Advisory

  • Corporate Finance Advisory

  • Corporate Broking

  • Bilateral and syndicated lending / capital markets loan

  • Global Transaction Services – Global Payments & Receivables, Trade & Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Cards, Corporate Deposit, Liquidity & Cash Management, $ Clearing

  • Global Leasing - Aircraft, Equipment and Vendor Leasing

  • Asset Based commercial lending

This is a high visibility role and requires engagement with both global and regional stakeholders across various businesses and functions within the Global Banking Business and act as a global SME for certain designated business / product group within Global Banking.

Key skills:

  • Experience of Internal Audit/front office/risk management experience with Global Banking experience.

  • Knowledge of Banking products / process and associated risks including credit risk.

  • Minimum University level of education in a recognized University.

  • Professional Certification - CA / ACCA / CFA / FRM / CIA will be a plus.

  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and comfortable at engaging with senior management at all levels of an organization across regions on complex issues.

  • Strong project management skill.

  • Solid risk assessment, financial analytical skill, problem-solving skills, and ability to apply critical thinking.

  • Exceptional attention to details and ability to ask good questions to fully understand the business, process, and risk.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) in English.

  • Have an adventures spirit and open to any opportunities coming once way.
