Global Banking and Markets Finance strives to be a valued business partner to the company's trading, corporate and institutional banking businesses. Global Banking Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Responsible for the centralized management reporting, including earnings reviews and forecasting, and supports financial reviews with our Executive Leaders in the Business and CFO.  Directs the forecasting, stress testing and Recovery/Resolution Planning financial activities.

Team Overview

The Global Banking Stress Testing and Recovery and Resolution Planning team (GB EST/RRP), is responsible for analyzing, summarizing, and reporting revenue, expense and balance sheet impacts for baseline and various adverse economic scenarios for the Global Banking businesses for submission to the FED, OCC and Senior Management.  This could include the analysis and reporting of financial and strategic impacts resulting from resolution and recovery actions for submission to regulators and Senior Management.

GB EST/RRP works with Line of Business, Business Finance, Corporate Treasury, Central EST & RRP Offices, and Risk leaders throughout GBAM to review and analyze the financial and business impacts.  This unique team provides exposure to businesses and financial drivers across the segment’s products/businesses and collaboration with leaders across the organization.

Role Summary

Provides analytical support for explaining business/forecast strategies in the context of baseline and stress forecasts. Understands complex interactions between economic and operational factors and the resulting impact to financial results by product and line of business. Challenges assumptions and results and is comfortable communicating and influencing support partners based on these results. Ability to quickly build credibility with partners. Leverage a broad and detailed knowledge of the results, including underlying methodologies and key assumptions, as well as the economics of the scenarios to identify key themes and relevant messages in presentations targeted to executive audiences. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion and independent judgment. 

In addition, expectations for this role include:

  • Address management and regulatory expectations for continuous improvement
  • Enhance documentation and internal control environment related to the stress testing and forecasting process
  • May lead small projects to drive initiatives related to forecasting systems and processes
  • Ad hoc requests from business partners

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of relevant or related experience in Finance or Economics
  • Solid technical skills in Microsoft Office, EPM and knowledge of General Ledger
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to lead or facilitate discussions across various levels of stakeholders/support partners
  • Quick learner, self-motivated and proactive
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and acute organizational skills are critical

Desired Skills:

  • Emerging Tech skills including Alteryx or similar software

Ability or desire to develop skills to lead or facilitate discussions across various levels of stakeholders/support partners
