Vice President, Senior Core Java Software Engineer (Front Office Equities Core) Global Markets Technology

Your background

  • Expert in Core Java (Mutli-threading, Low-Latency & Low-GC techniques)
  • Experience with distributed, event-driven, highly available and fault tolerant architectures
  • Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Pragmatic mindset, self-motivated and self-organized
  • Strong communicator with ability to lead or influence technical discussions if required
  • Strong repeatable testing background, unit, integration and performance. 
  • Capital Markets or Finance experience a bonus
  • Experience or understanding of techniques for horizontal scaling using technologies such as Kafka, Ignite or Hazelcast
  • University Degree in Computer Science (or other relevant field)

What you can expect

You will work within existing team of highly skilled and experienced Core Java developers to design and build low-latency and low-GC solutions to underpin the strategic Equities Order Management capabilities for a large Global Bank.   

Our team has a strong global reputation and our frameworks and software is used in multiple applications and deployments globally, across AMRS, EMEA and APAC regions.   We also partner heavily with applications teams on initiatives which use our frameworks, services and domain knowledge to deliver strategic solutions to the business.   

We have a large pipeline of work for multiple key strategic initiatives aimed at improving our growth/capacity/resilience and our workflow automation capabilities. 

You will become a SME in the various services and frameworks we build and support and able to work with other application development teams on best practice and usage.  You will also be able to discuss designs and architectures to provide guidance where required. 

Will suit candidates looking to combine their strong technical experience and desire to solve challenging problems for applications that are used to trade billions of dollars of equities on daily basis.

  • Hands on design and development using Core Java to build services and frameworks to support long term strategic architecture and growth for Equity Front Office Trading Systems. 
  • Working with application teams to provide knowledge, guidance and best practices on frameworks and services.
  • Become an SME on the core services and frameworks used in various trading and execution management systems.
  • Develop an understanding of the key applications in the Equity Front Office Trading domain
