Mainframe CA7/CA11 Job Scheduling Support Engineer Engineer- Core Technology Organization

Job Description:

    The Enterprise Job Scheduling (EJS) team administers support of the CA7 and CA11 tool set and tasks and their associated processes.  Demonstrate technical leadership and provide technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor. Lead resolution processes for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides Job Scheduling product support and administration with CA7/CA11 tool set
    • Manages multiple deliverables
    • Develops technical solution requirements and lead individual or small team initiatives
    • Interfaces with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff    
    • Participates 7x24x365 in on call support

    Required Skills:

    • 5+ years of IT experience
    • Strong Job Scheduling, product support and administration with the CA7/CA11 tool set
    • Ability to manage multiple deliverables with various time deliveries from days to months
    • Mainframe z/OS, JCL, TSO, ISPF
    • Release/Change Tool (Endevor/Remedy) User experience
    • Working knowledge of REXX
    • Ability to work closely with clients to resolve Tool issues 
    • Mid-level knowledge of IBM Utilities i.e. IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, etc
    • Good communication skills, both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff    
    • Ability to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation and provide off hours support as necessary

    Desired Skills:

    • Working knowledge of JAVA

Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.
