Events Specialist II

Job Description:

Event Planner Position Description

  • 5-10 years of experience in event planning
  • Works with Segment Leads, Event Leads, Marketing, Communications & Private Bank Line of Business (LOB) to execute events for Private Bank clients and prospects, including thought leadership programs, hospitality events such as arts and culture and sports-related events. Events can be smaller in scale and target local attendees or larger and more complex targeting attendees on a national scale.
  • Works with Segment Leads, Comms, Learning, LOB and other planners in support of Recognition events for Private Bank advisors
  • Accountable for end-to-end event execution including detailed budget creation, venue/vendor sourcing (in partnership w/ BCD), invitation creation, agenda development, registration/event site, attendee management, logistics planning (menus/AV/IT), onsite AND virtual execution, pre/post-event reporting, invoice processing (in partnership w/ BCD), event reconciliation

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing/communications-related position, including event planning experience
  • Experience working across all company levels from senior executives to support staff
  • Demonstrated experience event planning in a large corporate and/or matrixed environment (financial services experience preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WebEx, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Must be detail oriented, resourceful, creative and flexible, possessing a “can do” attitude
  • Excellent project management skills:  Strong communication, organizational, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be a team-player, enthusiastic, positive, polished, poised and professional in a highly professional business setting
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work and maneuver through a process driven company
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task; work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel when required (up to 40-50% time in the future)
